Abstract: 

China Record Corporation owns the majority of master recordings since the early 20th century when Chinese recording industry has just started. It has a lot of recording before 1949, such as labels of Pathé, RCA, Beka, Odeon and Great China Record etc. There are more than 135,000 pieces of metal masters and more than 45,000 tapes, equivalent to more than 100,000 tracks, as well as a large number of text files in China Record Archive. In 2012, China Record Corporation is established ""The Conservation Project of Chinese Historical Records"".
The project is established for the nationwide rescue and protection of historical recordings, permanent preservation of recordings in digital form, and building up complete catalogues of Chinese historical recordings.
